Naina Devi

The eyes of Sati fell here when Lord Vishnu shot arrows to cut the body of Sati into pieces, to delude Shiva's attachment. The holy shrine is situated on the top of Sivalik hills near 'Anand pur Sahib' - a famous Rly. station on Bhakhra-Nangal Railway line, in the state of Punjab. The Naina devi temple is visible from Anandpur Sahib towards north. Situated in H.P. the temple of Naina Devi is quite near the border of Punjab State.
In the temple, the deity is manifested as PINDI- a consecreted piece of stone worshipped as goddess. Although the shrine can be visited any time throughout the year, but on the festive periods of 'Ashtami' in August and 'Navratras' in October, it draws a large number of devotees shouting sloagans hailing the victory of Goddess.

Chamunda Devi

This is a holy shrine of 'Shiva' and 'Shakti' and is known as 'Chamunda Nandikeshwar Dham'. It is situated on the bank of Ban-Ganga and has been a seat of spirituality since ancient times. The place is full of natural beauty, peace and bliss and as such a natural refuge for saints, tantriks and meditators. The cremation ground of twenty two villages in the form of 'Maha Kali Chamunda' is a boon for tantriks. The great Lord "Ashutosh-Shiv-Shanker' in the form of death, destruction and devourer is sitting with mother Chamunda. The devotees worship Shiv and Shakti by hymns, offerings and give alms. Ancestral-worship (Shradha ceremony) is also performed here. After taking a bath in Ban-Ganga it is auspicious to listen or recite 'Shat-Chandi' hymns. Earlier, animal-sacrifice was also prevalent as a form of worship. In addition to this girl-worship is a part of rituals.

Chintpurni Devi

The sacred place belongs to 'Chhinnmastika Devi' i.e. the goddess without head. It is also known as the Abode of Chhinnamastika. But the most popular name is CHINTPURNI, which literally means the deity who fulfills the desires and saves from all sorts of worries. Some parts of the holy feet of Sati are said to have fallen here, while Lord Vishnu shot arrows to cut the corpse into pieces.
