Modhera Sun Temple

This partially ruined temple is located about 106 km northwest of Ahmedabad. The temple was built by King Bhimdev in 1026, and it is one of the finest ancient Hindu temples in Gujarat. There are some excellent carvings on this temple. Modhera is far off the normal tourist route. There are direct buses from Ahmedabad to here.
