Cave Temple

There are five elaborately carved cave temples, one of which is natural. You hive to walk up about 200 steps to get to them, because they are part-way up a cliff.

Cave 1, late 6th century, is dedicated to Lord Siva and has an excellent sculpture of Nataraja, dancing Siva. There are also sculptures of Harihara, Lakshmi, Vishnu, and Ganesh.

Cave 2, late 6th century, is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. There are sculptures of Varaha, Vamana, Lord Krishna, and Vishnu riding on Garuda.

Cave 3, 578 AD, has sculptures of Vishnu, Narasimha, Harihara,
Trivikrama, and many other scenes. Some of the sculptures are about 10 feet high.

Cave 4, is a Jain cave and has a statue of seated Parsvanath. Cave 5, which is a Buddhist temple, is a natural cave. It is near the Agasthya Lake.
