Jagdish (Jagannatha) Temple

This is a Vishnu temple that was built by Maharaja Jagat Singh I in 1652. It is nearly 80 feet high. There is a black stone Deity of Lord Vishnu as Jagannatha, Lord of the universe. It is located outside the City Palace near the cheaper hotels. The Jagannatha Temple has a large bronze statue of Garuda in it. This beautiful temple is the largest and finest temple in Udaipur.

 

Eklingji Temple

Eklingji is the patron deity of the royal family of Udaipur. Eklingji is known as "Kailashpuri," the abode of Lord Siva. The temple is said to have been built in 728. Inside the temple is a black marble image of Lord Siva with four faces. This temple is 24 km from Udaipur.

 

Ranakpur

This is one of the biggest and most important Jain pilgrimage centers. Most of the intricately carved temples here date from between the 12th and 15th centuries. The main temple, which is called Chaumukha, is dedicated to Adinath. It has 29 halls with 144 pillars of which no two are alike.
