Where To Stay - Lower
The budget hotels are in the Abids area between Hyderabad railway station and Abids Circle.
The Royal Lodge and Gee Royal Lodge, opposite the train station, are nothing fancy, but provide the basic necessities with attached bathrooms.
The Hotel Rajmata, opposite the station, has rooms with common bath It has deluxe rooms. The cheaper rooms are in the rear building and are rather dumpy.
The Hotel Imperial, on the corner of Station Rd and Public Gardens Rd (Nampally High Road), has basic rooms. The Apsara Hotel, Station Rd, has rooms with bath and hot water delivered in buckets in the morning.
The Hotel Suhail is a good value, having rooms with bath and hot water. This hotel is behind the GPO.
Where To Stay - Middle
The Hotel Saptagiri, just off Station Rd, around the corner from the Annapurna Hotel, is a recommended place. The rooms have a balcony and attached bath with hot water, and with A/C. Being on a side road it is not too noisy. Most rickshaw drivers do not know it, so ask for the Annapurna Hotel and find your way from there.
The Hotel Jaya International, just off Bank St, has good rooms with A/C. The Hotel Siddhartha, Bank St, is a really nice place with rooms with A/C.
The Hotel Aahwaanam, by J N Rd, near the Ramakrishan Cinema, has good rooms. Rooms with attached bath and hot water and with A/C.
The Taj Mahal Hotel, at the junction of King Kothi Rd and Mahatma Gandhi Rd (Abids Rd), is a grand old place with a pleasant atmosphere. It has large clean rooms with bath and hot water with A/C.
The Annapurna Hotel, Nampally Station Rd, is an Indian-style hotel with very big rooms with A/C. The maintenance of this hotel leaves something to be desired.
The popular Hotel Sai Prakash, Nampally Station Rd, near the railway station, is a nice place with comfortable rooms with A/C. It is a good value. It has a good vegetarian restaurant
Where To Stay - High
The Hotel Emerald, off Mahatma Gandhi Rd (Abids Rd), is a good value with rooms and deluxe rooms. The four-star Ritz Hotel, Hill Fort St, near the Birla Mandira was formerly a palace. It has charming old world style rooms.
The new Hotel Viceroy, Tankbund Rd over1ooking Hussain Sagar, has comfortable rooms. It is fully air-conditioned and has a pool.
Central Court Hotel, Lakdi-ka-Pul, two km from the station, is an upper end, mid-range hotel with rooms, which provide reasonable comfort for the price.
The Holiday Inn Krishna, Banjara Hills, has luxury rooms. The Taj Residency, Banjara Hills, is a first-class place with rooms.
The five-star Krishna Oberoi, Road No1, Banjara Hills, has rooms. A stay here, nestled amongst nine acres of beautiful gardens, is indeed a relaxing and pleasurable experience.
