It is due west of Vijayawada, 170 km east of Kurnool and 110 km north of Nandyal.

Air
The nearest airport is in Hyderabad (200 km).


Rail
The closest railway station is Markapur Road, on the Guntur-Hublim metre gauge line that heads west from Vijayawada. Srisailam can also be reached from Nandyal (110 km) and Kurnool stations.


Bus
By bus it is 200 km southeast of Hyderabad (6 hrs) and 260 km southwest of Vijayawada. There are several buses coming here from Hyderabad, but the 10 am luxury bus is the easiest and most pleasant.

There are directs buses to Kurnool, Tirupati, and Madras. To get to Ahovalam from Srisailam takes about 10 hours and you need to change buses three times.
