Introduction of Religio-Cultural Emissaries From India

Indo-China:

Since the scope of Vedic Dharma is very vast and all pervading dharyate anena iti dharmah or "dhriyate loko;nena or dharati lokam va", it is but natural that the sages thought in terms of Universal Brotherhood (vasudhaiva kutumbakam). But this goal of universal brotherhood could not be achieved without a missionary zeal, which they certainly possessed. Attempts of Asoka in sending missionaries to different parts of the world is only a part of whole scheme of universal brotherhood, i.e., to make everyone an arya, i.e. a noble soul. The appealing simplicity of Buddhism found favour everywhere. With the revival of Saivism and Vaisnavism, a new spirit was infused and they followed the famous dictum 'to become god' one has to do 'godly deeds'.
