King Janak Welcomes Vishwamitra Now the great sage Vishwamitra along with Rama and Lakshmana advanced towards Mithila, the capital of Videha Janaka. King Janaka was known as 'Videha' as he would be unaware of his body and its demands when he dived into the ocean of inner bliss surging within his bosom. Verily he was a sage-king. As soon as Janaka saw Lord Rama, he was beside himself with joy super-natural. Bowing his head at the sage's feet, he inquired who those two princes were. The sage smilingly answered, "They are the sons of king Dashratha. They have come with me to see the 'Swayambar' of your daughter Sita." |
