I glorify God Agni, the Chief Priest, minister of the sacrifice, the bounteous giver of wealth. Praiseworthy is the effulgent lord by living and ancient sages. He brings the Gods hither. He brings us wealth and food increasing daily, fame and heroic sons to gladden our hearts. Only the sacrifice that you Lord encompass and guard reacheth the Gods in heaven. To you, dispeller of darkness, O Agni, we come with daily prayer, bringing our reverence. O Lord of Sacrifice, nourisher of the world, thou waxeth mighty in thine own dwelling. Be easy to us of access, like a sire to his son, be with us for our weal and joy.

O friends, come and sit ye down all here together to hymn Indra. Singh his praise who is the Lord of all things, the best and the riches, the showerer of wealth. May he help us in acquiring abundant wealth and grant nourishing food for our health and strength. Praise Indra, whose strength foemen in battle dare not challenge. Come ye near him, the Soma-enjoyer for whose enjoyment the juices have been shed mingled with curds. O Indra, born to enjoy the juices, thou hath grown strong to perform noble deeds. Let us speedy Some enter thee, O Indra, the lover of song, to make you happy. May these our songs of praise increase the powers, and may our Vedic hymns magnify thee, O God, full of never failing power. May thou Indra of infinite strength accept our food-offerings of thousands of kinds containing manly strength, the source of true delight. O Lord, let not men harm our body, thou keep violence far away from us.

O men, learn ye that Indra made light where there was no light and form where there was no form. He was born with the Dawns. Thou, Indra, pierced the cave and discovered the kine like the fierce Wind-gods who break down things that are firm.

The singers, the reciters and the choirs have glorified Indra. Indra the golden, thunder-armed, with his tow day bay steeds hath the world as his car. He hath placed the Sun on high that people may see by his light. Clouds he bursts to shower the rain. O aweful Indra, help us by your fierce acids in battles to win thousand spoils. We invoke Indra in frays small and great, our unfailing Friend who hurls his thunderbolt at wicked powers. Unclose for us, our irresistible Hero, thou bounteous Indra, the yonder cloud. Higher and still higher I sing his praise, but I find no praise worthy of him. He, the irresistible, drives the people with his might, as the bull drives the herd onward. He is the sovereign of wealth and fivefold race, of men that dwells upon the earth. Indra, we call thee away from all other men, may be ours and none others.

Our hymns extol Indra, vast as the ocean, the best hero borne on chariots, the Lord of strength and protector of men. We bow before Indra and glorify him, in whose mighty friendship we never fear. Thou art, O hero, ever conqueror but never conquered. The gifts of him from of yore, his saving succour, never fail, kine and wealth. Indra the weilder of thunderbolt, the young, the wise, of limitless strength, the sustainer of all sacred acts, much extolled, is the crusher of enemies and their forts by birth.

Every day in the morning, we invoke Indra, during the sacrifice of drinking Soma Juice. Come here with thy bay steeds, the juice is effused. Come thou to our sacrifice where thy songs of praise are sung, to juices shed for thee, drink of it like a thirsty stag and increase thy strength.

I invoke Indra and Agni, the great Soma-drinkers for the fame of Mitra, the friend and benefactor of all. We call upon strong and mighty Indra and Agni to enjoy the oblations offered here in the Yajna. O mighty Gods, protectors of men, come to us, destroy the wicked ones. Let the wicked foes, the devourers of men be destitute of progeny. May Indra and Agni, who are well known for their truthfulness, fill us with joy and happiness.

May Heaven and Earth grant sweet nourishment to our sacrifice. May the Earth be without thorns and pits to provide us dwellings. May she, spreading wide, the resting place for all, grant us delight and pleasure by providing shelter. May the learned protect us by teaching about the all-pervading God, who created this world with seven substances, and sustains all comprising earth, water, fire, air, etc. God alone should be adored who made this visible earth, the invisible subtle world and the brilliant solar world. He, the omnipresent and protector of all upholds the threefold world, which follows the eternal law ordained by Him. Look ye, O men at the works of God, the true friend of the soul, the giver of bliss, the creator, sustainer and disintegrator of the world. The righteous and learned men behold God within their hearts, as the ordinary mortals see the Sun in the sky. These learned men, singing His songs of praise, attain the blissful light, of all-pervading God that is the goal of all.
