Agni made both the earth and heaven light up by his birth, an admirable son of the two mothers, worthy to be implored. He is oblation bearer of Gods, undecaying beneficient for food, affluent in radiance, ever youthful, and all-pervading. The Gods with their intelligence, preserving strength and powers, generated Agni. I being desirous of gaining strength, generate Agni who is like a horse, great and bright with radiance and so vigorous. We choose Agni, eager to acquire joy and strength, him who is praiseworthy and ever so friendly. He is highly desirable, shining with celestial splendour, waxing strong with the sages’ laud. The sacrificers, having spread the sacred grass, establish radiant Agni before them in Yajna and raise ladles to him for happiness. He, the resplendent, beloved of all the Gods, present at all sacred rites, accomplishes the Yajna.

The Agni has filled both heaven and earth and the spacious firmament with light, giving great delight to the Gods by his birth. He is led to the Yajna like a horse. Let the sages ever rever him to win us strength. O learned, honour and serve him, the oblation-bearer, the lord of house, the seer of truth, the friend. He is also the upholder of the law, evermost active and give of knowledge of all that exists. The three radiant forms of circumambient Agni, which are indestructible, purify all. One of these divine forms has been given to men for their enjoyment. The other two pervade the sister realms and its objects. The people desiring the fulfilment of their wishes, offer him oblations, him the lord of men, the Sage of human beings. He stirs with life when generated and creates a roar like a lion or a laud bellow like a Bull. Agni, the beneficient to all, the immortal, bestows wealth and gifts on his devotees. He, the benevolent, ascends to the heaven and roams in his own way as of old. He gives wealth to all, as of old, ever watchful and moving. We implore Agni for wealth and prosperity, him who is most radiant, gold-haired and bright. He is verily admirable because he makes us dwell in happy homes and upholds the law.

Agni, the wonderful envoy, goes between the earth and heaven and as the high Hotar-priest of men bears oblations. He adorns the lofty dwelling places with his radiant flames, sent forth by the deities and made strong with hymns,. We, the learned men laud him with sincere praise, the symbol of Yajna. Through him, the noble sacrificers, in association with other wise men, attain happiness and bliss. Agni, the protector and symbol of all sacrifices, the great God of the learned and wise, the ordainer of the earth and other worlds, has pervaded heaven and earth giving joy to his worshippers in various ways, being present everywhere. He the effulgent whose chariot is radiant like the gold, possessing great powers pervades all the dwells in the floods. He, cherished by all, swift and wild, established by Gods, bestows happiness. He, borne on car, moves between the earth and heaven accomplishing many sacred rites, the swift lord of the household who removes curses. He fulfils desires, destroys diseases and promotes sacrifices in his different forms. O learned men, hymn Agni for good sons and long life. O God, grant us proper and nourishing food in plenty, satisfy the learned men, thou ever watchful, desiring the company of other Gods.
