For Matrimonial Bliss

Through this auspicious oblation, let this man be flourished again, may he grow superior to his wife that they have brought for him with his sap.

May he grow superior to her in strength, superior in royalty. May these two grow rich in thousandfold wealth, that in inexhaustible and full of splendour.

Tvashtar generated a wife for thee, and for her a husband in thee. May Tvashtar grant both of you a thousand lives, may he give you a long life!

For Happy Conception

Thou art a holder, thou holdest both hands and drives away the demons! This amulet, hath become the obtainer of progeny and wealth!

O amulet, hold wide the womb, so that the embryo be placed into it, do thou bestow a son, do thou make him come here, thou comer!

The amulet that Aditi wore, when she wanted a son, may Tvashtar fasten upon this woman that saying, "she shall beget a son"!

For Procuring a Wife

I take a name of him who comes here, who has come, and is coming, I call the name of Indra, the Vritra-slayer, the Vasus of the hundredfold strength.

By which path the Ashvins carried away Surya, as a bride, Savitar's daughter, by that, Bhaga has told me, thou shalt bring a wife!

With thy wealth-giving, great, golden hook, O Indra, O overlord of strength, grant thou a wife to me who seeks one.

For Imparting Swiftness to a Horse

Be thou, O steed, as swift as the wind, being yoked to the chariot, urged by Indra go fast as the mind. May the all possessing Maruts yoke thee, may Tvashtar put swiftness into your feet!

With the swiftness, O courser, that has been put into you in secret, also that which has been given away to the eagle, to the wind, with that speed, do you, being strong, win the race, reaching the goal in the contest.

Let the body, O steed, leading a body, run, a pleasure for us and a delight for you. A god, not stumbling, great, he shall find his own light in the heaven, as it were!

For Relief from Distress

The many plants whose sovereign is Soma, of hundred-fold aspect, begotten by Brihaspati, may free us from distress.

May they free me from the distress arising out of a curse, and also from that which is of Varuna, besides, from Yama's fetters, from each and every sin against the gods!

If we have transgressed any law waking or sleeping, if with sight, with mind or if with speech, may Soma purify these for us !

For Victory in Battle

Victorious is the sacrifice, Victorious is Agni, Victorious is Soma, Victorious is Indra. We devotees of Agni, reverently offer this oblation so that we may subdue all the hostile armies!

Hail be ye, O wise Mitra, O Varuna, increase ye here our kingdom with honey so that it be rich in offspring, drive away afar the misfortune, remove from us far away any committed sin!

May ye be inspired to follow this hero, be close, to Indra, O friends who subdues armies, conquers cattle, is thunder-armed, overthrows the enemy host arrayed, slaughtering the foe with his might!

For Securing a Woman's Love

As this draught-horse, O Ashvins, comes on, so may thy sprit some on and move together with me!

I draw your mind to me, as does a chief stallion the female side horse. Like a stalk of the grass torn be the wind, so may thy mind twine itself to me!

For a Child Born at Unauspicious Time

Since yore, O Agni, thou hast been praised at sacrifices as hotar-priest and even now anew thou shalt be our priest. O Agni, gratify thine own self and grant us good fortune.

Born under jyesthaghni constellation, or under the vikritan, Do thou protect him from being uprooted by mulabarhana. May Agni conduct him across all misfortunes unto long life of a hundred autumns!

On the tiger day was the hero born, under an auspicious constellation, he became rich and brave. May he not slay his father, may he not harm his mother that gave him birth, when he grows up!

Against Insanity

O Agni, free this man for me, who here bound and well-secured cries so loudly. Thenceforth he shall make a due share for thee, when he is released from insanity!

May Agni calm down thy mind if thy mind if thy mind is disturbed. Skillfully do I make a remedy so that thou mayest be freed from madness!

Made insane by the sin against the gods, or by the demons, for you skillfully, do I make a remedy so that thou mayest be freed from madness!

May the Apsaras restore thee, may Indra, may Bhaga restore thee, may all the gods restore thee so that thou mayest be freed from madness!
