I reverence too the lotus feet of Lakshmana, cool, comely and source of joy to the faithful, whose glory was like a staff to bear the stainless banner of Raghunatha’s renown.

He was the thousand-headed Shesha who came down for the sake of the universe to remove the terrors of the world. May that son of Sumitra ever show me his favour, ocean of compassion, storehouse of perfection!

I bow also to the lotus feet of Shatrughna, valiant and chivalrous companion of Bharata, and to the mighty warrior Hanuman I make petition, whose glory has been celebrated by Rama himself.

Yea, I reverence the Son of the Wind, of profound intelligence, a fire to the forest of evil-doers, in whose heart Rama, equipped with bow and arrows, makes his home.

The monkey king, the king of bears and demons, Angad and all the company of monkeys – I do homage to the benign feet of all; for, though fashioned in lowly form, they yet found Rama.

I reverence the lotus feet of all the birds, beasts, gods, men and demons who worship the feet of Raghupati and serve Rama without selfish motive.

Shukadeva, Sanaka and his brethren and all devotees, Narada the sage and the other sages, wise and learned, I reverence putting my head to the ground; O lords of sages, be gracious to me as your servant!
