By the grace of the Name, Shambhu attained immortality, an auspicious figure in an inauspicious attire. Shukadeva and Sanaka and all the saints, sages, and ascetics by the grace of the Name enjoy heavenly bliss.

Narada too acknowledged the power of the Name, for all the world loves Hari, and Hari and Hara love Narada. When Prahlada repeated the Name, the Lord showed him his grace and he became the crown of the faithful.

Dhruva in his distress repeated the Name of Hari and won a place fixed, incomparable. The Son of the Wind (Hanuman) thought o that holy Name and made Rama subject to himself.

Ajamila the sinner, the elephant and the harlot of the legend were liberated by the power of Hari’s Name; but why shoud I any more extol the Name? Rama himself cannot adequately glorify the Name.

In this Kaliyuga the Name of Rama is a wish-yielding tree (the tree of Paradise), the very home of blessing, thinking whereon Tulasidasa, who was nothing but intoxicating hemp, has become the sacred tulasi plant (the holy basil).

In all the four ages, at all times past, present and future, and in all the three spheres creatures have been freed from care by the repetition of the Name. The Vedas, the Puranas and the saints agree that the reward of all virtuous deeds is the love of Rama.

In the first age the Lord is pleased by contemplation, in the second by the rite of sacrifice, and in the Dvapara by ritual worship, but the Kaliyuga is nothing but the root of all impurities when the hearts of men wallow like fish in the ocean of sin.
