Now, holy father, summon all the Brahmans and present them all with cows decked with every adornment’. On hearing these words the guru applauded the king and then sent for the whole saintly throng.

Then came Vamadeva, the celestial sage, Narada, Valmiki, Jabali, Vishvamitra and hosts of other great sages given to austerities.

The king prostrated himself before them all and worshipped them and then affectionately conducted them to seats of honour. Next, he sent for four hundred thousand cows, all as gentle and beautiful, as the cow of plenty;

-and after adorning them all in every possible way he gladly bestowed them upon the Brahmans, with many a phrase of studied humility, avowing that on that day his life had found its truest fulfilment.

On receiving their blessing the king, the delight of the Solar race, rejoiced, and then sent for all the begging fraternity and bestowed on it, according as each desired, gold, raiment, jewels, horses, elephants and chariots.

They all went off singing his praise and loudly declaring, ‘Glory, glory, glory to the lord of the Solar race!’ Such were the rejoicings at Rama’s wedding that not even Shesha could describe with his thousand tongues.

Again and again the king bowed his head at Vishvamitra’s feet and said, ‘All this joy, O chief of sages, is the result of your gracious regard!’
