The prime minister, Dharmaruchi, a second Shukra, was as devoted to the king’s interests as he was wise. Thus he had a prudent counsellor and valiant brother and he himself was a glorious warrior

He had a large army of horse and foot, chariots and elephants, and numberless excellent warriors all eager for the fray. The king rejoiced to inspect his army, and there was a tumultuous sound of kettledrums.

He collected a special force for the conquest of the world, and fixing a propitious day marched forth with drums and trumpets. A number of battles were fought here and there and all hostile kings were brought to their knees by force of arms.

By the might of his arm he subdued all the seven continents and let their princes go on payment of tribute. Now Pratapabhanu became the undisputed monarch of the whole world.

Having thus subjugated the whole universe by the might of his arm, the king returned to his capital and devoted himself to business, religious practices, love and other delights as occasion required.

Invigorated by king Pratapabhanu’s might, the charming land became a cow of plenty, the people were happy and free from all pain, and men and women were handsome and virtuous.

The minister, Dharmaruchi, was devoted to Hari’s feet and unfailingly instructed his royal master in statecraft for his good; nor did the king ever fail in doing service to his spiritual teachers, gods, saints, ancestors and Brahmans.
