The actions of saguna Rama , Parvati, cannot be logically interpreted by the power of reason or by speech; and that is why the enlightened ones and ascetics worship him without disputation.

Having thus confounded the monkey host, Meghanada at last manifested himself and began to filing forth many a word of abuse, Jambavan said, ‘Just stay where you are, O wretch!’ when he heard this, he seethed with anger.

‘Fool,’ he cried, ‘I spared you only on account of your age, and now, O vile wretch, you’ve had the audacity to challenge me!’ these words uttered, he hurled his glittering trident, but Jambavan caught it in his hand and, darting forward,

Struck Meghanada in the chest so vehemently that the scourge of the gods reeled and fell to the ground. Once again Jambavan in his fury caught him by the foot and, whirling him round, dashed him to the earth as a display of his might.

But by virtue of the divine boon (granted to him by the Creator), he died not for all his killing. Thereupon Jambavan seized him by the foot and hurled him into Lanka. Meanwhile, the celestial seer Narada had despatched Garuda, who took no time in coming to Rama.

Garuda, the king of the birds, seized and gorged himself on the whole swarm of magic snakes. The delusion was thus dispelled, and all the divisions of the monkey host rejoiced again.

Equipped with rocks, trees, stones and claws, the monkeys rushed forth in rage, while the demons took to their heels in panic and climbed up to the top of the fort.
