But this supreme state of final liberation is immensely hard of attainment – so declare the saints, the Puranas, the Vedas and the Agamas (Tantras). By the worship of Rama, my lord, the same beatitude comes unsolicited, even against our will.

As water cannot stay without earth beneath it, though one devise a myriad schemes for making it, even so – believe me, king of birds – the joy of final salvation cannot stay apart from devotion to the Blessed Lord.

So thinking, the wise worshippers of Hari spurn final release and remain enamoured of faith. As soon as one has faith, ignorance, which is the root of metempsychosis, is destroyed without any effort or exertion,

In the same way as we eat for our own satiey but the gastric fire digests what is eaten (without any effort on our part). What fool is there who finds no delight in a path so easy and blissful as devotion to Hari?

“I am the servant and the Lord Rama my master”-without this relationship, Garuda, it is not possible to cross the ocean of birth and death. Holding to this established doctrine, worship the lotus feet of Rama.

Blessed are the souls that worship Raghunatha, with whom is the power to make the living dead and the dead alive.

I have thus stated and expounded the doctrine of knowledge, now hear of the power of the jewel of faith. Faith in Rama is a glorious wish-yielding gem (a philosopher’s stone). He in whose heart it abides, O Garuda.
