Sooner may ghee be produced by churning water, or oil by crushing sand, than the ocean of worldly existence be transversed without worshipping Hari. This is an irrefutable doctrine.

The Lord can turn a mosquito into Brahma or degrade Brahma himself to a position lower than that of a mosquito. This the sagacious realize and worship Rama, discarding all doubt.

I tell you an established truth – and my words can never be untrue – that men who worship Hari are able to traverse the most turbulent ocean of mundane existence (without much effort).

I have told you, my lord, of the incomparable acts of Hari, in full or in brief, as best I can. The crowning doctrine of the Vedas, O foe of snakes, is this that one should abandon all worldly entanglements and take to worshipping Rama.

Who else is worth serving if you renounce the Lord Raghunatha, who is comapssionate even to such a wretch as myself? You, my lord, are the very embodiment of divine wisdom and have no infatuation, and you have done me this great favour,

that you have asked me to tell you the most sacred story of Rama, that gladdens the souls even of Shukadeva, Sanaka and his brothers and Shiva. The fellowship of the godly is hard to get in the world even for once, be it for a moment or for half an hour.

See, Garuda, and consider for yourself whether I am fit to worship Rama. Though I am the meanest of birds and altogether abominable, the Lord has made me known as a purifier of the world.
