Those, too, are fit recipients who are devoted to the feet of their guru and the precepts of morality and who minister to the Brahmans. The story affords special delight to him who loves Raghunatha as he loves his own life.

Whoever wishes to love Rama’s feet or to attain to the blessed state of liberation should devoutly drink in this story from the cups of his ears.

I have told you, Girija, the story to Rama that wipes out the sins of the Kaliyuga and cleanses all the impurities of the mind, the story that is a life-giving remedy for the disease of birth and death, as is hymned by the Vedas and the learned.

It has seven beautiful steps, being so many roads leading up to the goal of faith in Raghunatha. He who enjoys the utmost grace of Hari can set his feet upon this road (the road to devotion).

Those who guilelessly sing this story attain the object of their soul’s desire; and those who recite or hear and gladly assent to it pass over the sea of birth and death as they would a mere puddle.

Parvati was greatly pleased to have heard the whole story and replied in joyous tones. ‘By my Lord’s grace my doubts have disappeared and my love for Rama’s feet has sprung up afresh!

By your favour, Olord of the world, I have now attained the object of my life. Unswerving devotion to Rama has sprung up in my heart and all my afflictions have vanished.’
