Shree Ganesh

Parvati had cooled down. As asked by Shiva, she smiled and looked at the Gods benevolently. The fire of her anger had subsided. She had won and the Gods had been vanquished. She looked into the sky, signaled to her Shaktis and soon there was tranquility and happiness all over. Brahma and Vishnu, along with other Gods, rejoiced. They bowed before Parvati and Shiva. After blessing Ganesh, they took their leave.

Shiva was glad that he had been able to correct his mistake. Parvati was delighted that the Gods had been taught a good lesson that none can save them from their evil or wrong deeds. Above all, her son had attained Godhood.

After normalcy had prevailed in the heaven, Ganesh took charge of guarding the place of Shiva. Ganesh was the master there. There was none to bully or threaten him. Who could suppress or obstruct him? He himself was the remover of all hindrances or obstacles in the way of others.

Once, Parshuram came to meet Shiva. Parshuram was a great devotee of Shiva and was also very proud of the fact that he was free to approach Shiva at any time he wished. When he reached the gate of Shiva's abode, he was stopped by Ganesh as he used to check everybody there. He had made it a rule. Ganesh said, "You cannot enter inside at this moment."

Parshuram said, "Why?"

Ganesh said, "Mahadeva is having a nap. Nobody can disturb him while he is taking rest."

Parshuram being very short-tempered by nature and always ready to quarrel, said, "Get aside. I am Parshuram. I have to see him immediately. I have no time to wait."

Ganesha said, "If you have no time to wait, I shall make you wait as I wait for persons like you at this gate!" Then Ganesh lifted Parshuram in his arms.
