Flow on thou sweet Soma, flow forth meath of Gods’ taste. Thou divine and bright, flow forth, flow to the vast dwelling place of immortal Gods. Let Indra drink of thy juice of joy for wisdom, let all the Gods drink it for strength! Flow on as a mighty ocean, O Soma, as Father of the Gods to ever form. O God flow on, resplendent to the Gods, blissful to the heaven and earth and all living beings! Flow forth thou divine, sustainer of the Sun, flow mighty One, in accordance to the Law! Flow thou splendid, through the woolen sieve with thy many stream, O Soma! Let soma the light-finder, joyous and cleansed, expressed and led by men, makes all happiness flow. He, while cleansed, makes all happiness flow. He, while cleansed, protects the people, shall grant us all treasures for our own.

Flow forth to battle to win Vritras. Thou speedest to quell the enemy like a hero exacting debts. We all rejoice ourselves in thee, O effused Soma, for attaining supremacy in fight. Thou Soma Pavaman, enterest into mighty deeds. Thou soma, didest engender the Sun with thy might and rain in the high sky, hasting to us with plenty vivified with milk! Thou didest beget the Sun, the immortal one, for mortal beings, for upholding Law and sweet Amrita. Thou evermore makes the wealth to flow to us. Thou hast with thy might pierced for us, as it were a never drying well for men to drink, led on thy path in fragments from the presser’s arms. Then resplendent Gods proclaim their kinship with him as they look upon him and God Savitar open us, as it were the folds of heaven. Some men of old whose sacred grass was spread, addressed the song to thee, O Soma, for gaining strength. Soma priests of old have drained forth from the great depth of the sky the ancient primeval divine milk that deserve the laud. They sang aloud to Indra at his birth. O Pavaman, thou art the lord of heaven and earth and all that exists. Thou shinest like a sovereign Bull among the herd.

We all possess various thoughts and plans and diverse are the calling of men. The carpenter seeks out that which is cracked, the physician the ailing, the priest the worshipper. Flow, Soma flow for Indra’s sake! The smith with his seasoned plants, with his feathers of the birds of the air, and stones for the tips, and with enkindled flames seeks him, who a store of gold. Flow, Some flow, for Indra’s sake!

I am a bard, my daddy is a physician, my mummy’s job is to grind the corn. Our callings are different, but we all aim at wealth. We follow in its wake like a cowherd after his kine. Flow, Soma flow for Indra’s sake! A horse wants to draw a light car, gay hosts like to evoke a laugh and a jest, the male desires his mate’s approach, a trog wants a flood to plunge within. Flow, Soma, flow for Indra’s sake.

Let Indra, the Vritra-slayer drink Soma juice by the Lake, gathering strength in his heart for doing hero deeds. Flow, Soma flow on for Indra’s sake. Flow thou Some, the lord of heavenly regions, a boon to men, through the land, shed with vigour and devotion and a sacrificial song. Flow, Soma flow for Indra’s sake! Hither has she brought the mighty Soma plant, nursed by God Parjanya. The Gandharvas have caught hold of him. Flow, Soma flow thou, for Indra’s sake! By Law splendid, upholding Law truthful and speaking the Truth, Soma, the King, is embellished by the pressers. Flow, Soma flow thou, for Indra’s sake! He flows on in streams, the great and truly mighty. The Soma juices, cleansed with prayer, mingle with one another, the golden-hued. Flow, Soma flow thou, for Indra’s sake!

O Pavaman Soma, where the priest-recites the meterical hymn, moving the pressing stones, exults in juices, through Soma bringing for delight, flow, Soma flow thou, for Indra’s sake. Where the celestial light ever shines, where the Sun is ever present, in that deathless and undecaying world place me, O Pavaman, beyond any harm’s reach. Flow, soma flow thou, for Indra sake! Make me immortal in that world where the King Vivasvat’s son rules supreme, where is the shrine of heaven, where the waters are ever fresh and young. Flow, Soma thou flow, for Indra’s sake! Make me immortal in that radiant realm where they move about as they will, in the threefold region, in third inmost heaven, where realms are full of light. Flow, Soma thou flow, for Indra’s sake! Make me immortal where vows and eager longings are fulfilled, the realm of the golden Sun, the kingdom of oblation, and joyous felicities. Flow, Soma thou flow, for Indra’s sake!
