Where to Stay - Lower
The Rainbow Hotel, Sri Narasimharaja Rd, by City Market bus stand, has rooms and A/C rooms. It is one of the best values in town. Hotel Amar, 5-6 Ayurvedic Hospital Rd, is a good value with rooms having attached bath.
The Hotel Prashanth, 21 E Tank Bund Rd, is a popular place with rooms that are a good value.
Where To Stay - Bus Station Area
The cheaper hotels are around the bus station, south of the railway station. The Janata Lodge is a good clean place having rooms with bath.
The Hotel Tourist, Race Course Rd, is a good place that has rooms with bath and hot water in the morning.
The Royal Lodge, 251 Subedar Chatram Rd, has clean rooms with common bath and rooms with bath and hot water in the morning. The Hotel Adora, 47 Subedar Chatram Rd, has decent rooms with hot water in the morning.
The popular Ramakrishna Lodge, Subedar Chatram Rd, is a good clean place. The KSTDC Hotel Mayura Kempegowda, Dhanavanthri Rd, has rooms with bath that are a good value. The Janardhana Hotel, Kumara Krupa Rd, High Grounds, has big rooms with a balcony, bath, and hot water and deluxe rooms.
Opposite the bus station is the Hotel Mahaveer, 9 Tank Bund Rd, which is a modern clean place with rooms and A/C room. The cheaper rooms in the front of the building can be noisy.
Where to Stay - MG Rd Area
The Sunflower Lodge, 129 Brigade Rd, has rooms. The Hotel Gautam, 17 Museum Rd, has rooms with bath. The popular Brindavan Hotel, 108 MG Rd, has rooms with bath and A/C rooms. It is a good value and is recommended, but is almost always full, being booked in advance.
New Central Lodge, 56 Infantry Rd, has clean rooms. It has hot water. It doesn't look so good, but is all right for the center of Bangalore. If all the lower-priced places in the MG Road area are full, there is a good chance this place will still have a room. Similarly priced is the Hotel Vellara, 283 Brigade Rd, 1 km from MG Road. This hotel is centrally located and is a good value.
The Airlines Hotel, No 4 Madras Bank Rd, has rooms and with A/C. Berrys Hotel, 48 Church Street, has rooms and with A/ C. It is a large place that is popular, mainly because of its location.
Where to Stay - Middle
Woodlands Hotel, 5 Sampangi Tank Rd (Raja Rammohan Roy Rd), is a recommended place in a quiet area with nice gardens. It has two excellent vegetarian restaurants, one South Indian and the other continental. Rooms are with A/C. There are also more expensive suites. It is a good value. It has an old and a new building.
The Ashraya International, 149 Infancy Rd, has rooms.
The Hotel Nilgiris Nest, 171 Brigade Rd, has clean comfortable rooms and rooms with A/C. It is centrally located and is a good value. The new Hotel Highgate, centrally located at 33 Church St by MG Rd, is a modern place with central A/C and rooms that are a good value.
The Hotel Raceview, 25 Race Course Rd, is close to the railway station and has rooms and with A/C. The Hotel Rama, Lavelle Rd, has nice clean rooms and with A/C.
The New Victoria Hotel, 47 Residency Rd, has it's own garden with many trees. It has real character, it is clean, and it is a good value. You have to make a reservation in advance as it is heavily booked. It is a very good mid-range choice and is recommended.
Hotel Luciya, 6 OTC Rd, has rooms and with A/C. The Hotel Banglore International, 2A/2B Crescent Rd, High Grounds by the Race Course Rd area, has rooms with TV.
The three-star Hotel Abhishek, 19/2 Kumara Krupa Rd, High Grounds, has rooms and with A/C. It has two vegetarian restaurant.
Where to Stay - Higher MG area
Curzon Court, 10 Brigade Rd, has rooms.
The Cauvery Continental 11-37 Cunningham Rd, has rooms and rooms with A/C. The four-star Gateway Hotel, 66 Residency Rd, is a modern place with a swimming pool and rooms. The Ramanashree, Comforts 16 Raja Rammohan Roy Rd, has rooms and is a good value.
Where To Stay – Luxury
The Taj West End Hotel, Race Course Rd, is a recommended three-star hotel with a pool and a nice spacious garden covering 20 acres. Part of the hotel dates back to 1887. The nicest rooms are in the old part of the hotel. You should ask to see some rooms before you choose one.
Taj Residency, 41/3 MG Rd, has rooms. Non-residents can use the pool and heath club facilities for a day. The Ashok Radisson Hotel, Kumara Krupa Rd, High Grounds, has rooms. The pool can be used by non-guests.
Rooms at the Holiday Inn, 28 Sankey Road. The Oberoi Bangalore, 37-39 MG Road, has luxurious room. The Oberoi has a landscaped Japanese garden and a pool. The five-star Welcomegroup Windsor Manor Sheraton, 25 Sankey Rd, has rooms for the top of the line suite. This hotel is in a beautiful old building.
