Where To Stay - Lower
Mysore is a very popular tourist spot with many reasonably priced and often full hotels. The main areas for the budget hotels are Vinoba Rd, Dhanvantri Rd, and Gandhi Square.

The Hotel Sangeeth,1966 Narayana Shastry Rd, is a clean budget place that has rooms with bath and hot water. Nearby the Gayatri Bhavan, Dhanvantri Rd, has rooms with common and double rooms. The Agrawal Lodge, just off Dhanvantri Rd, has rooms with bath.

The Hotel Aashraya Mysore has rooms with bath. The Hotel Anugraha, at the junction of Sardar Patel Rd and Sayaji Rao Rd, is a good value. It also has rooms with TV. The Hotel Mannars, by Gandhi Square, is a good clean place, in a relatively quiet area.

The Hotel Dasaprakash Gandhi Square, is popular with middle-class Indians. It has clean rooms and family room. It has a good vegetarian (thali only) restaurant.

The popular Hotel Park Lane, 2720 Sri Harsha Rd, has rooms with bath. It is a clean pleasant place, located next to a small park in a quiet location. The Hotel Calinga, 23 KR Circle, opposite the City Bus Stand in the southern part of town, has rooms with hot water room with a TV. It is a good recommended place.


Where To Stay - Middle
KSTDC Hotel Mayura Hoysala, 2 Jhansi Lakshmi Bai Rd, by the railway station, has good-sized rooms with bath and suites. It has a garden. The bus tours run by KSTDC start here, and Indian Airlines have their office in this hotel.

The Mysore Hotel Complex, near the bus stand, is a big place that has rooms with bath and hot water. The more expensive rooms have A/C and a TV. It is built like an American motel, and is recommended, if you don't mind the impersonal design. It is mainly used by middle class Indians.

The Hotel Sreekrishna Continental, Sri Madhvesha Complex, 73 Nazarbad Main Rd, has rooms and rooms with A/C.

The Ritz Hotel, Nilgiri Road, has good British-Raj style rooms with a nice atmosphere. It is a very small place and is usually booked. To stay here you have to call and make a reservation at least a month in advance.

The Hotel Roopa, Bangalore Nilgiri Rd, has rooms. The Hotel Siddharta, 73/I Government Guest House Rd, near the long-distance Central Bus Station, is a good centrally located place with a vegetarian restaurant.

The Hotel Palace Plaza, 2716 Sri Harsha Rd, has large clean comfortable rooms. It is a recommended popular place, so it is best to reserve a room in advance. Dasaprakash Paradise, 105 Vivekananda Rd, a few km from the downtown, is a recommended place with clean rooms and rooms with A/C. The vegetarian restaurant here is the best in town.


Where To Stay - Higher
Kings Kourt Hotel, at the junction of Vinoba Rd and Jhansi Lakshmi Bai Rd, is a really nice place with A/C rooms. It has more expensive rooms and is very popular.

Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel, T Narasipur Rd, is a recommended place about 8 km from the center of town. It is such a nice place that it is worth going to see as a tourist site. It was built as a guest house by the Maharaja. The name of the hotel means "beautiful building."

The Southern Star Mysore, 13-14 Vinoba Rd, has comfortable rooms. It has bookshop and a swimming pool.

The Hotel Metropole, 5 Jhansi Lakshmi Bai Rd, by Vinoba Rd, has comfortable rooms with A/C and Deluxe Suite. It was once the Maharaja's guest house, so it is a fancy place with old-world charm, and at this level it is the recommended place. It has a well-kept garden and a nice veranda.

The Hotel Rajendravilas Imperial is on top of Chamundi Hill, 14 km from town. The Maharaja of Mysore once went here for the weekends. It is a splendid-looking place with a good view of the city.
