Where To Stay
The hotels here fill up by later in the day, so it may be difficult to find a room. Besides staying the Trivandrum, you can also stay in Kovalam (18 km), at the beach.
Where to Stay – Lower
Most of the cheap places are near the railway station and bus station, on or close to Station Road. Most of the hotels on Station Road are not very good and are noisy. A better area is along Manjalikulam Rd, which heads north off Station Road. This road is lined with hotels for about a km, from low-end to good mid-range hotels. It is also a quiet street.
The Pravin Tourist Home Manjalikulam Rd, has clean quiet rooms. The Bhaskara Bhavan Tourist Paradise isn’t really a paradise, but the rooms are clean and cheap.
The Sivada Tourist Home is good place with A/C rooms. The Manacaud Tourist Paradise has large rooms with bath. The Hotel Kyvalya is a good place. It has double rooms with bath. The Taurus Lodge, Statue Road, is a good place with clean rooms, Room 24 and 25 are the best rooms. The owner is full of interesting information.
Where to Stay – Middle
The Hotel Regency, Manjalikulam Cross Rd, has rooms with A/C and Non A/C. It has 24–hour hot water and is a good value. The Hotel Highland, Manjalikulam Rd, is a tall building that can be seen from the railway station. It has comfortable rooms and rooms with A/C. The staff here is helpful.
The Hotel Amritha, Thycaud, half a km from the railway station, has rooms and rooms with A/C. The Hotel Horizon, Aristo Rd, has comfortable rooms with A/C. Residency Tower, Press Rd, has rooms with A/C. It is clean and a good value.
The modern Chaitram Hotel, Station Rd, run by the Kerala Tourism Corporation, has Non A/C and A/C rooms. There are also more expensive deluxe rooms. It is conveniently located by the bus and train station. It is fairly popular. The Hotel Pankaj, MG Rd, opposite the Secretariat, is a well-maintained comfortable place with Non A/C and A/C rooms.
Where to Stay – High
The KTDC Mascot Hotel, Museum Road, is a three-star hotel which is located about 3 km north of the Padmanabhaswami Temple. It is a nice place to stay with hot water, A/C, and TV. Rooms. It has a swimming pool and suites. This is one of the best places in town and is a recommended place. It is best to see a few rooms before choosing one.
The three-star Hotel Luciya Continental, East Fort near the Sri Padmanabhaswami Temple, is a good modern place with rooms and suites. This place is centraly air-conditioned. The four-star South Park MG Road, is a Welcome group hotel with comfortable A/C rooms.
The well-managed Hotel Fort Manor, Power House Junction, half a km from the railway station, has clean rooms with A/C.
