Where To Stay - Lower
Most of the cheap hotels are located in the Cantonment, the new part of town by the bus stand and railway station. There are cheap basic dharamshalas by the Srirangam Temple for the many pilgrims that visit the temple.
The Guru Hotel 13-A Royal Rd, and the Vijay Lodge, 13-B Royal Rd, are both decent cheap places with rooms. It is best to get a room in the back as the restaurant is very noisy.
Hotel Lakshmi, 3-A Alexandria Rd, is a recommended place with good rooms with bath. The Hotel Aanand, 1 Racquet Court Lane, is a good place that has rooms with bath and A/C rooms.
The Hotel Arun, 24 State Bank Rd has rooms and with A/C. The Hotel Ajanta, Junction Rd has rooms.
The Old Hotel Aristo, 2 Dindigul Rd, Cantonment, has rooms with A/C. It has cottages with A/C.
Where To Stay - Middle
Most of the middle-class hotels are by the Central Bus Stand. The bus stand is a thiry-minute bus ride from the Srirangam Temple.
The Hotel Ashby, 17A Junction Rd, is an old British Raj style place, which is showing its age. The place has a veranda, courtyard, and large rooms. The Hotel Tamil Nadu, McDonald Rd, Cantonment, is a better than average place with rooms.
The Hotel Ramayas across from the bus stand, is a recommended well-managed place having modern rooms with bath with A/C. The Hotel Abhirami, 10 McDonald Rd, is one of the best values in the area. It has good rooms with a TV with A/C.
The Hotel Gajapriya, 2 Royal Rd, has rooms with bath. The Hotel Mega, 8-B Rockins Rd, is a good place having rooms with bath with A/C. The Hotel Mathura, right next door, on Rockins Rd, has rooms.
The Femina Hotel, 14 C Williams Rd is a three-star hotel with rooms. It also has deluxe rooms and suites.
Where To Stay-Higher
Hotel Sangam, Collector's Office Rd, is a western style hotel with rooms. It is not so well maintained and therefore not such a good value.
Jenney's Residence, 3/14 McDonald Rd, is a western style hotel with 24 hour checkout. This doesn't include the 20% sales tax and other taxes, which can add up to a total of 40% in taxes. It is, however, the best place in town, and it is in a quiet location. The rooms on the 4th and 5th floor are new.
