Where To Stay - Lower
Many of the cheaper hotels are within walking distance of the train station.
The Jagdish Hindu Lodge is on the third road to your right, as you come straight out of the train station. It is very basic, but perhaps the best cheap place, with rooms. On the same road is the Hotel Vikram, which has rooms with A/C.
The Green Hotel, R C Dutt Rd, is a quiet clean well-kept place with rooms. It is the best budget option. The Delux Kadak Bazaar, is a clean budget hotel, just south of the station.
The large Ambassador Hotel, on the right from the station, is a good mid-range choice with big quiet rooms and with A/C. They have a few dumpy rooms on the ground floor, so get a room upstairs. They have a 24 hour checkout time. In the next street over is the Apsara Hotel, which is a well-maintained place with good rooms.
Where To Stay - Middle and High
The Hotel Surya, opposite the Ambassador Hotel, is a modern place with rooms and with A/C. Across the street is the brand new Rama Inn, which has first-class facilities such as a swimming pool and cable TV. It is a very good value and checkout time is 24 hours.
The four-star Express Hotel, RC Dutt Rd, one km from the railway station, has A/C rooms.
The Welcomgroup Vadodara, R C Dutt Rd, is a five-star hotel with luxury rooms.
