Train
Arsikere is 156 km from Bangalore by train. From Arsikere to Hassan and Mysore there are three daily trains. It takes 1 1/2 hours to get to Hassan and 6 hours to get to Mysore.

The express trains between Bangalore and Bombay stop in Arsikere. For most trains to Bombay, you have to change trains at Miraj. The Udyan Express is the fastest train. There are no sleeping quotas for any of these trains. They have to be arranged at either Bangalore or Mysore. The Vasco Mail, goes to Vasco da Gama in Goa.

To get to Hampi (Vijayanagar), you take a train to Hospet. You have to change trains at Hubli and maybe Gadag. You could also take a train to Harihar and from there get a bus to Hospet.

Bus
There are frequent buses to Belur and Halebid. A bus to Sringeri takes four hours.
