The Lord appeared in Setty's dream and promised that He would appear in the court and speak for him from the witness box. He asked him not be worried over the affair. Setty told his wife about the dream. She was also much pleased.

On the appointed day, after completing their prayers the Settys were present in the court. The entire town was present anxious to know the outcome of the case.

The judge arrived in the court and occupied his seat.

"Subbi Setty, Subbi Setty, Subbi Setty," cried the court Jawan.

Subbi Setty immediately stood before the judge and took the oath in the name of God.

Judge: Subbi Setty, have you taken a loan of Rs. 2000/- from Badekhan at 9% interest.

Setty: Yes, my lord. I have also executed a Bond in my own hand.

Judge: Why then have you not returned the money? You have now to pay principal and Interest and court costs too.

Setty : Excuse me my lord. Even without Badekhan demanding it, I voluntarily paid back the principal and interest, when once he chanced to visit my house. That day was Saturday and I gave him Prasadams like sweet pongal, Sugar candy, betel etc. that were offered to Lord Sri Venkataramana as naivedyam.

Judge: Why then did you not take back the Bond?

Setty: Saheb's visit to my house was only casual. So he did not carry the bond with him. He however promised to return the Bond soon after he reached his home and I agreed. The amount was paid in the presence of Sri Venkataramana, my Lord.

Judge: Have you got any witness for the payment made?

Setty: Lord Venkataramana was there.

Judge: Will he speak in court?

Setty: Yes, my lord. (There was laughter in the court)

Judge: Setty, you are reminded that you are In a court. Speak correctly.

Setty: (without being perturbed) Yes, my lord. You may kindly send summons to Lord Venkataramana.. He will be pleased to speak witness.
