Ketu (Nodal Planet--South)
The origins of Rahu and Ketu are the same. When the head of the asura who masqueraded as a deva was cut off by Mohini, both parts continued to survive because they had consumed the elixir. The body, which was Kern, prayed to Vishnu and ended up with the head of a serpent and body of a human. When fell to the earth, a Brahmin, Mini, brought him up with affection as his son.
Ketu has a black face with scales of a snake. Mount Meru can be seen behind him. 00 his right we see his Adievata, Chitragupta, who chronicles everyone's deeds on earth and presents this ledger on death so the decision about whether the person goes to heaven or has: to return to earth again can be made. To Ketu's left is his Pratidevata, Nanmugan (four-faced one). Ketu's eyes denote his short temper and tendency to get angry quickly.
