Where To Stay - Lower
Theery popular Ever Green Guest house, Mumtaz Bagh, Chameliwala Market, is opposite the GPO. Double rooms with bath, and rooms with bath and hot water. Dorm beds. There are also A/C rooms. It has a nice garden and a tiny swimming pool. It is always full with foreigners. It is the most popular place with backpackers and a good place to meet people.

The popular Jaipur Inn, B-17, Shiv Marg, Bani Park, has a selection of clean rooms. The more expensive rooms have hot water. It also has a good dorm and camping facility on the lawn. It is usually full of foreign travelers. It is very well managed. It has a kitchen that guests can cook in.

The popular Diggi Palace, Shivaji Marg, Hospital Rd, is a 200-year-old former palace with a huge lawn. It is clean, well managed, and has a peaceful atmosphere. There is a selection of rooms with common bath to an air-cooled room.

The Swagatam Tourist Bungalow, near the railway station, has rooms and also an air-cooled room. Dorm beds. It is convenient if you have an early morning train to catch. It is not too noisy, and it has a good lawn.

The railway retiring rooms with bath, and with A/C, and for a dorm bed. Rooms with common bath. City Center Hotel, near Sindi Camp Bus Station, is a good deal.


Where To Stay - Middle
On Banasthli Marg there are several modern mid-range hotels.

Aangam Travellers Home, 4 Park House Scheme, opposite AIR, just off MI Road by Station Road, has nice rooms in a quiet area. It is a good place. Right next-door is the Atithi Guest House, Motilal Atal Rd, between Station Rd and MI Rd, which is also good. It has very clean well-maintained rooms with bath and hot water, and also a deluxe room. It is very well managed by a nice family.

The Kailash, Johari Bazaar, is in the middle of the old city. Rooms with bath. The rooms are a little small.

The Madhuban Hotel, Bani Park, is a family run place with rooms for a large room. It is a good value with a nice lawn and garden. This is a good place to stay. Near by is the Marudhara Hotel, behind the collectorate, which has rooms with common bath and rooms with bath.

The RTDC Teej, Collectorate Rd, Bani Park, is a well-managed clean government hotel with air-cooled rooms and A/C rooms. Dorm beds.

Hotel Mangal, Sansar Chandra Rd, off the main road near the bus stand, is a good place with ros and rooms with A/C. It has a vegetarian restaurant, health club, and sauna. It has 24 hour checkout facility as well.

The popular Arya Niwas, just off Sansar Chandra Rd, (behind the Amber Cinema), is a recommended place with clean large rooms with bath. It has a small book shop, a front lawn with chairs, money changing facilities, parking area, and hot water in the winter. It is a really good place. You should ask to see a few rooms, as some are better than -others.

The RTDC Ganguar Tourist Bungalow, just off Sansar Chandra Rd, has comfortable rooms with bath and hot water with A/C. It has a nice lawn and is a pretty good value.

The well-managed Hotel Megh Niwas, Bani Park, is a very good place with rooms and with A/C. It has a nice garden and a swimming pool.


Where To Stay - Higher
The LMB, Johari Bazaar, a standard double room and luxury room. The rooms in the front are better than those in the back, so ask to see the rooms before you take one. The best thing about this place is its excellent restaurant. It is well located close to temples, the palace, and the shopping areas.

The Hotel Khasa Kothi, south of the junction of MI Rd and Station Rd, was a former minor palace. It has a swimming pool and comfortable large rooms. This place has a big lawn and gardens.

The Hotel Bissau Palace, outside Chand Pole, dates from the 1920s and has a nice atmosphere, with comfortable rooms with A/C. Some of the rooms are very good, while others are not, so you have to see the rooms before you have to see the rooms before you rent one. It has a swimming pool and tennis court.

The Narain Niwas Palace Hotel, is a former palace with rooms with A/C. It isĘ in a quiet location and has big gardens. The big rooms have classic antique furniture.

The Samode Haveli, in a quiet location in northeast Jaipur, is a really nice place with rooms. It is the 200-year-old house of the former prime minister of Jaipur. It has a nice patio area and a remarkably painted dinning room. It is popular with foreign tourist.

The Hotel Meru Palace, Sawai Ram Singh Road, has rooms with TV and hot water. It is not a good value, but has the first-class South Indian style restaurant, Woodlands.


Where To Stay - Luxury
The Rambagh Palace, is one of the nicest places anywhere in the world. It formerly belonged to the Maharajof Jaipur and is a very prestigious and superb place with a fountain garden. Because it is such a good place to stay, most of the time it is totally full. So it is best to reserve a room in advance. The cheapest room and the most expensive Royal Suite. If you stay in no other luxury place in India, this along with the Lake Palace Hotel in Udaipur are the places to stay in order to sample the classic comforts and atmospheric luxuries that were the norm during the times of the British Raj.

The Jai Mahal Palace, corner of Ajmer Marg and Jacob Rd, south of the railway Station, also used to belong to the Maharaja of Jaipur. It has rooms for a luxury suite. It has a majestic atmosphere, swimming pool and gardens. This and the Rambagh Palace are the two most luxurious places in town.

The Rajmahal Palace, on Sardar Patel Marg, belonged to a former British ruler. It has opulent rooms for a suite.

The Mansingh Hotel, off Sansar Chandra Rd, is a modern place close to town center. It has opulent rooms. It has a swimming pool. The Hotel Clarks Amer, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, ten km from the center of the city, has rooms. The Jaipur Ashok, Bani Park, has a pool and good rooms. It needs to be better maintained. The new Holiday Inn, on the road between downtown and the Amber Fort has comfortable rooms.

The Rajputana Sheraton, Palace Rd, near the railway station, is a well-designed deluxe hotel built around a swimming pool
