Air
There are flights to Agra, Delhi, Bombay, Udaipur, Calcutta, Varanasi, Aurangabad, and Abmedabad. The airport is 14 km out of town. The airport bus into town and a taxi.

The Indian Airlines office is at Nehru Place. There are some international airlines offices at the Jaipur Towers, MI Rd: Air India, Gulf Air, Thai Airlines, Delta Airlines, Air France, and Alitalia. British Airways is on Park St, off MI Rd.


Rail
The railway station is 1 km west of the old city by the main concentration of hotels.
There are several trains daily that go between Jaipur and Delhi. From Delhi trains going to Jaipur depart from the New Delhi Station and the Sarai Rohilla Station. The Shatabdi Express leaves Delhi at early morning and arrives in Jaipur at morning. The Shatabhi Express to Delhi departs Jaipur at evening and arrives in Delhi at night. The Shekawati Exp leaves Delhi at evening and arrives in jaipur at early morning. The Chetak Express also departs from Delhi.

The super fast Jaipur-Agra Fort Express to Agra departs Jaipur at early morning. This is a popular train and a should be booked in advance.

You can connect with trains to South and western Gujarat by going to Ahmedabad by the Ahmedabad Express. There are several express trains to Ajmer and Abu Road.

The convenient Chetak Express is a convenient train for Udaipur. There is a fast daily Express train to Hyderabad (Seunderabad) .

The only train to Mathura is the Jodhpur-Varanasi Marudhar Exp.

Most trains should be booked a day in advance. The computerized booking private office is open 8 am to 8 pm, Monday to Saturday, and 8 am to 2 pm, Sunday. If you have a problem getting a train here go to the station superintendent and ask for his assistance.

Bus
Long-distance buses depart from the Interstate bus terminal on Station Road. Deluxe buses can and should be booked a day in advance at the Tourist information Booth, platform 3, Sindhi Camp bus stand. Deluxe buses depart from platform 3, which is in the right rear corner of the bus station yard. Express buses can be booked at Ashok Travels by the ITDC Tourist office.


There are five deluxe buses leaving to Agra (4 ½ hr) daily.

There are also regular buses to and from Ajmer and a few direct buses to Pushkar. There are 8 deluxe buses to Ajmer (21/2 hr) daily three deluxe buses daily to Udaipur (l0hr) and 7 hrs each day to Jodhpur.

From the Vrindavana bus station a local bus leaves daily to Jaipur, the journey is about 6¼ hr. From the new Bus Stand in Mathura, buses depart to Jaipur (6 hr), almost every hour. If you're going to Mathura you can take an express luxury bus to Bharatpur and take one of the regular local buses to the rest of the way (1 hr).


From Delhi (305 km, 5 hr) you can get deluxe coaches from the Interstate Bus terminal. Also deluxe coaches leave From Bikaner House, the Rajasthan Tourist Office near Indian Gate, and from the ITDC Office. There are 20 deluxe buses from Jaipur to Delhi.

Private companies offer deluxe buses to many of these places. They can be arranged by the travel agents around town. The overnight deluxe video buses offered by private companies can be extremely noisy.


Car
The easiest way to get to Jaipur from Delhi or Vrindavana is to take a taxi. It is expensive, but it is by far the most comfortable way to travel. Once in Jaipur you can continue to use the taxi for a daily fee. You should make sure the taxi driver knows Jaipur to some extent or you may find yourself very frustrated and taking rickshaws anyway.
