Air The Jolly Grant Airport is 18 km west of Rishikesh. There are daily flights to Delhi on Indian Airlines a Jagsons (except Thur).
Rail There is a train from Haridwar to Rishikesh, but the bus is a better way to go. From Haridwar you can get a train to Delhi and many other major cities.
Bus From the Main Bus Stand there at regular buses to Haridwar and Dehra Dun. There are also some direct buses to Delhi (6 hr). An A/C deluxe bus departs from the Daseraa Hotel at morning to Delhi. From Vrindavana, you have to get a bus to Haridwar and from there get another bus to Rishikesh.
The buses for the Garhwal Hills (Char Dhama) depart from the Yatra Bus Stand off Dehra Dun Rd. In the summer there are regular buses to Gangotri (250 Km, 12 hr), Badrinath (297 km,13 hr), Gaurikund (near Kedarnath 210 km), Hanuman Chatti (for Yamunotri, 210 km, 9 hr), and other pilgrimage places. It is best to get an early morning bus (5 or 6 am), as the buses is not travel at night in the mountains.
Taxi and Rickshaws You can get shared taxi from the bus stand in Rishikesh to Haridwar. There are also shared rickshaws (tempos) to Haridwar.
In Haridwar, if you walk across the bridge a few blocks from Hari-ki-Pauti Ghat there are regular shared motor tickshaws (for the entire rickshaw, 40 min) that go to Rishikesh. These rickshaws go to the end of town, and from there you have to get another rickshaw to Shivanand or Laksman Jhula.
