Introduction of Sri Venkataramana Witnesses
In Court |
Sanyasi: Venkataramana.
Judge: Your father's name?
Sanyasi; I am the father of all.
Judge: Where do you live?
Sanyasi: I have no place of my own. The entire universe is mine.
Judge: Did you witness Subbi Setty returning any money to Badekhan
?
Sanyasi : Yes.
Judge: How can you be believed?
Sanyasi; I shall prove it. That was a saturday. Subbi Setty, after
worship, along with Prasadams paid Badekhan 200 ten rupee notes
and 36 five rupee notes. Khan counted the amount twice and put it
in his coat pocket. He kept the coat along with his copy of the
Koran in one almirah in his house. It is still there. This can be
verified by the court. It was only the religious jealousy that rushed
the Khan to the court.
Hearing the Sanyasi, the entire audience praised the Lord in many
words, which the entire court echoed.
The Judge shivered. Tears of joy rolled from his eyes. He ordered
the court officials to verify the statement of the witness.
The officials went to Badekhan's house and brought the coat found
in the almirah. It was checked and verified to contain 200 ten rupee
notes and 36 five rupee notes. Every body was surrprised.
The judge was stunned. He fined Badekhan one thousand rupees for
filing a wrong suit and unnecessarily dragging an honest man to
court and ordered that the sum found in his pocket be deposited
in the Hundi at Sri Venkataramana's temple. The Khan was also cautioned
Dot to have religious hatred or criticise any religion.
Badekhan prostrated before Setty and begged his pardon and from
that day onwards became a devotee of Lord Venkataramana.
Even today descendents of Badekhan are worshipping Lord Venkataramana.
The Lord is born on earth and with his consort~ Padmavathi, is
living the Tirupati to bless ,the devotee;. This story is a fitting
example of the Lord's affection towards his devotees.
With thousands of Pilgrims visiting the shrine daily, Tirupati
continues to present a festive apperance.
